Germany opens parts of the job market for east Europeans
The German Federal Government decided because of lack of specialist to open the job market starting from 1 November 2007 for mechanical engineering and electrical engineers from the twelve new European Union countries. Malgorzata Zdziechowska demands, Germany should beyond that like Great Britain the hurdles for all occupational groups abolish. “The lack of workers becomes a serious brake for the economic development. The losses resulting from it become estimated on 20 billion euro in the year. Nevertheless our western neighbours decide only to a limited and controlled opening of the job market… The Germans see a threat and no chance in workers from the east above all - against all logic and despite economic facts. The British economy flowers today owing to the workers from the east, whom German develops more slowly than it could, because of the lack of workers.”
