The number of the children living in Germany in poverty increased in the past year. In March more lived this yearly as 1.9 million children, who are younger than 15 years old, on social welfare assistance level, communicated the Federal association of the German child defense association .
That corresponds to an increase of 3,3 per cent in the comparison to the previous year month. If one considers still the young people up to the age of 18 years, lived at present altogether 2.6 million children in Germany in families, whose parents would refer unemployment pay II (ALG II) or social welfare assistance, said the DKSB president Hilgers on Monday in Berlin.
